This ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi version Grades 6 – 8 was adapted and translated by kumus (teachers) on Hawaiʻi Island. This version is a mix of lessons from the English and the Marianas Islands editions with an emphasis on cultivating a strong connection to place and to health. Lesson 6 has a collection of recipes using local fruits and vegetables along with reflection prompts to engage students in thinking about the effect of food on their feelings and bodies.
